Modesto, California - Erlene Ann Blum was born on October 30, 1939, in California to Earl and Beulah Ketchpaw. She transitioned peacefully from this life on April 10, 2024, at Prestige Living Care.

Erlene attended Thomas Downey High School, there she met the love of her life Jim Blum, and later married. She lived in Modesto for most of her 84 years (except for 5 years) when Jim was transferred to St. Paul Minnesota with PacBell.

Erlene worked for various companies in the community. In her later years she was secretary to Pastor Bob Irving at Big Valley Grace. Erlene had perfect attendance in Bible Study until her health declined. She always shared her grapefruit and lemons from her trees with the class.

If there was one thing to know about Erlene, it was that she loved her cats. A close friend of hers stated, “I believe at one time she had five. They were her pride and joy.” She leaves two behind for James to care for.

Erlene’s spirit shined brightly through her entire quiet spoken demeanor. She worked tireless to provide a safe, healthy, and loving home for her family.

Erlene is survived by sister Marilyn, granddaughter Jennifer (Wesley), grandsons James, Jeremy, & Jacob, great-grandchildren Aidan, Aela, Kloey, Gavynn, Charlie, Isaiah, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, her two daughters, and sisters.

Erlene accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She and Jim were faithful and active members of Shelter Cove Community until their health declined. A committal service for Erlene will be held on April 22nd, 2024 at Lakewood Memorial Park in Tuolumne Garden, located at 900 Santa Fe Avenue in Hughson, CA.
