Gracedale Nursing Home and Heartland Hospice will hold a Veteran Recognition event at 2 p.m. Nov. 5 at Gracedale, 2 Gracedale Ave., Nazareth.
The Slate Belt Heritage Center will present its Veteran’s Program 7 p.m. Nov. 8. Iraq War Veteran and former history teacher, William Casamassima, will relate his experience in locating over 703 graves of local men who served in World War I and lived in the Slate Belt. Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem, will hold a memorial service honoring veterans who have died in the last year at 2 p.m. Nov. 9. The guest speaker is Lt. Col. John McGeehan. State Rep. Steve Samuelson will present certificates to family members honoring veterans the funeral home has served in the past year. Military honors and taps will be given by the Harry F. W. Johnson Post #379.
The Joint Veterans Council Forks of the Delaware, along with the Easton Memorial Day Parade council, will hold a program at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Oak Grove Memorial Garden, Upper Hackett Park, Easton. Color guard from the Northampton County Detachment 298 Marine Corps League along with Brown & Lynch American Legion Post 9 color guard and honor guard will participate. David Rose, Easton’s official town crier, will be the guest speaker.
Williams Township will hold a program at 1 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Williams Township Municipal Buildingl, 655 Cider Press Road. 610-253-8951. Musical tribute by the Gilbert Family/Sing for America group. Pastor Blake Heffner, St. John’s Church of Morgan Hill, will offer opening and closing prayers.
SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem, will honor local women veterans at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 11. “Women Veterans: Reflections of their time in the Armed Forces,” features first-hand accounts of veterans’ experiences while protecting and serving our nation, as well as a screening of the feature film “Blood Stripe.” This year’s guests are Jenny Pacanowski of Bethlehem, U.S. Army, who served in Iraq; Cheryl G. Ites of Easton, U.S. Marine Corps, who served in Iraq; and Corinna Louise Brown of Topton, U.S. Army.

There is a $1 service fee per ticket. Fullerton Post 367, 609 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall, will hold services at 10 a.m. Nov. 12.
The Color Guard from the Northampton County Detachment #298 Marine Corps League along with Brown & Lynch Post #9 Color/ Honor guard will render military honors at 1 p.m. Nov. 12 on Washington Boulevard at the five war memorials between South 17th and South 21st streets, Wilson Borough. The Wilson Area High School Drum and Bugle Corps will participate. Students from St. Jane’s Elementary and Wilson Elementary will be lining the boulevard to recognize and honor veterans. Following this event, participants and the public will assemble in the Wilson Elementary School for a Veterans Day Tribute.
