Win keeps Muhlenberg perfect at home

Muhlenberg remained perfect at home this season, rolling to a comfortabl­e 49-0 thrashing of Gettysburg on Saturday at Scotty Wood Stadium.

The Mules improved to 8-1 overall behind an impressive showing from QB Michael Hnatkowsky, who threw for 205 yards and four touchdowns on 21 for 28 passing.

James Diggs ran for 77 yards and two scores on 10 carries, while Mark Riggio added 53 yards on the ground on 16 attempts.

Ryan Curtiss hauled in six passes for 69 yards and two touchdowns, while Max Kirin caught five passes for 57 yards and a touchdown for Muhlenberg, which rebounded nicely after suffering its first loss of the season last week against Johns Hopkins.

Chris Hillburn contribute­d a 3-yard touchdown catch in the victory.

Gettysburg managed just 128 yards of offense in defeat.

Diggs ran for scores in each of the first two quarters, while Kirin hauled in a 25-yard touchdown toss from Hnatkowsky and Hillburn caught his touchdown with 25 seconds left in the opening half as the Mules led, 28-0 at intermissi­on and coasted the rest of the way. at Biemesderf­er Stadium in Lancaster County behind outstandin­g performanc­es from several key players.
