Susan Wild makes Election Day history
The Lehigh Valley elected its first congresswoman Tuesday, as Democrat Susan Wild defeated Republican Marty Nothstein and Libertarian Tim Silfies in the newly drawn 7th District. However, Nothstein holds a slight lead over Wild for the old 15th District seat that Republican Charlie Dent gave up earlier this year. The winner of the 15th District, which will be determined after provisional, absentee and military ballots are counted, will serve until the end of the year.

The 15th District ballot counts are expected to be finalized this week. investigate a complaint of harassment and discrimination in the city’s police department, Mayor Sal Panto Jr. confirmed Friday. The probe came to light after Easton City Councilman Peter Melan proposed last week that council investigate the claim. Panto did not release details about the complaint, but said it involved one officer and was referred for investigation two months ago.
