Dioceses setting up funds for victims
Seven of the eight Catholic dioceses in Pennsylvania, including Allentown, announced last week that they will set up compensation funds for the victims of sexual assault by priests. The Allentown Diocese said it will hire an outside administrator to manage the fund. It also said that no money from churchgoers will go into the fund.
What’s next? The Allentown Diocese has not said when the fund will be set up, how large its fund might be, or who would qualify for it.
