Nasty political ads

It’s time to call out network television stations that have run slanderous, false, hurtful and downright nasty political ads on behalf of billionaire campaign manipulators in 2018.

While it is dubious that there ever was a standard of journalistic honor or integrity among these networks, if there was, it is no more. This was a straightout money grab by the networks, and the ads contributed absolutely nothing of value to the campaigns.

What’s next? Let’s call on the next Congress to ban all TV ads that contain lies, for a start.

Second, let’s ask Congress to ban any political ad that is not paid for by a legitimate candidate’s campaign and to substantially fine any TV network that places such an ad. Robert M. Farley
