Thomas A. “Uncle Tom” Snyder, 87, formerly of Hellertown, died Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Phoebe Richland Health Care, Richlandto­wn. He was born in Palmerton on October 22, 1931 to the late Clayton and Minnie (Cunfer) Snyder. Tom served our country faithfully in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was an accountant for the PB& NE Railroad at the Bethlehem Steel for 34 years until retiring. Uncle Tom was a faithful member of First United Church of Christ, Hellertown, serving on the Board of Christian Education, 44 years as a Sunday School Teacher and after retiring at the Steel, he volunteere­d his time and talents at the church from 1991 – 2014. Tom was a dedicated and loving grandfathe­r to his three granddaugh­ters.

SURVIVORS: Children: Terry L. (Rebecca) and Sandra K. (James) Panick, all of Hellertown; siblings: Frances Deganich, Rodney (Shirley) Snyder, all of Lehighton; Colin (Susan) Snyder of Greensboro, NC; grandchild­ren: Emily (Tim) Mann, Sarah (Chase) Mitchell, and Rachel Panick. Predecease­d by siblings: June Bubick, Jeanette Hartman, Betty Sterling, & Winfield Snyder.

SERVICE: Family and friends are invited to call 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at First United Church of Christ, 501 Northampto­n Street – Hellertown followed by the service at 11 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Military Honors will be accorded by the Edward H. Ackerman Post 397, Hellertown. Online expression­s of sympathy can be recorded at: www.heintzelma­ncares. com.
