James W. Ney, 88, of Fountain Hill, passed away peacefully, on Friday, November 23, 2018, while in the care of the nurses at the St. Luke's Hospice House. He was the loving husband of the late Althea M. (Swauger) Ney, who passed away on August 31, 2011. Born in Pottsville, he was the son of the late Harry and Catharine (Reinhart) Ney. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Jim worked at Champion Spark Plug in Hellertown for 33 years, until the doors closed in 1983. He volunteere­d at Cedarbrook Fountain Hill for 15 years. He also volunteere­d with Meals on Wheels and driving Cancer patients. Jim worked hard and remained humble while working and raising his family along with his wife. He was devoted to his Catholic faith, and was a member of St. Ursula's Church.

SURVIVORS: He will be greatly missed by his family and is survived by his son David Ney and wife Suzanne of Hanover Twp.; daughters Cathy Stech and husband Ed of Fountain Hill, Mary Schultz and husband Gerry of Coplay; grandchild­ren Monica, Alicia, Jim, Steve, and Annie; great-grandchild­ren Thomas, Nolan, and Matthew. He was predecease­d by brothers Paul, Harry, and sister-in-law Dot.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 10 A.M. in St. Ursula Catholic Church, 1300 Broadway Fountain Hill, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 8:30 A.M. until the time of the Mass. Interment will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery. Jim's arrangemen­ts are entrusted to Cantelmi Funeral Home, Fountain Hill. A memorial tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifu­neralhome.com.
