Margaret W. Yost

Margaret (Peggy) W. Yost, 95, formerly of Allentown, died November 22, 2018 in New Haven Court at

Linwood, Greensburg, PA. She was the loving wife of the late Edward F. Yost. Peggy worked as a secretary and store clerk, but most of all she was a dedicated mother and housewife. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Frank W. Wallitsch and Anna (Schreiner) Vollman. She was a longtime member and past-president of the Altar Circle at the former St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown. In early retirement years, Peggy and her husband enjoyed traveling to many countries, and took pride in their home and gardens. Many of her other passions included dancing, painting, ceramics, and creating sculptures at Lehigh Valley Active Life Center.

She is survived by her son Craig L. Yost and his wife Pat of Greensburg, PA; her daughter Lynn C. Y. Reichenbach and her husband Gary of Gilbertsville, PA;4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father: Julius Vollman, sisters: Hilda Sumja, Emma Zettlemoyer, Elsie Hammersly and a step-brother: Rudolph Kober. Funeral services to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held on Thursday, at 11 a.m. in the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th and Hamilton Sts. Allentown. A visitation will be held immediately preceding the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
