Lehigh University acquired the former Bethlehem Steel Homer Research Laboratory in 2013, after it had been vacant for almost a decade. Lehigh University renovated the facilities and added 120,000 square feet of construction, creating a new footprint for the 435-acre campus. The site has netted more than $60 million in investments in the facility and its portfolio of companies with an estimated $180 million in investments expected over the next 10 years.
