1985 — Clemson’s Grayson Marshall sets an NCAA record with 20 assists in an 83-57 victory over Maryland-Eastern Shore.

The Seibu Lions will begin the posting process for LHP Yusei Kikuchi on Dec. 3 so that he can negotiate with teams in Major League Baseball. The posting period begins Dec. 5, and Kikuchi will have 30 days to sign a contract with a major league team. Kikuchi, 27, has a 73-46 career record with a 2.77 ERA in Nippon Profession­al Baseball.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: UCF junior QB McKenzie Milton underwent successful surgery on his right knee after suffering what Knights coach Josh Heupel called a “traumatic” injury during Friday’s win over South Florida. Milton’s father told ESPN that the surgery stabilized the knee and dealt with undisclose­d “internal issues.”

GOLF: Thomas Pieters and Thomas Detry shot a 9-under 63 in fourballs to give Belgium a five-stroke lead after three rounds at the World Cup in Melbourne, Australia. Belgium reached 19-under 197. Mexico (Abraham Ancer, Roberto Diaz), Italy (Andrea Pavan, Renato Paratore ) and South Korea (Byeong Hun An, Si Woo Kim) were tied for second . ... Aaron Rai shot a third-round 2-under 68 to extend his lead from four to six strokes at the Hong Kong Open. Rai reached 16-under 194 at the European Tour’s season opener. Fellow Brits Matthew Fitzpatric­k (68) and Tommy Fleetwood (66) were tied for second.

NFL: Hall of Fame tight end and former Bears and Saints coach Mike Ditka, 79, had a pacemaker inserted after suffering a mild heart attack Wednesday in Florida, and is expected to be released from the hospital soon, ESPN reported . ... The Packers placed LB Nick Perry on injured reserve with a knee injury. Perry finished his season with 24 tackles and 11⁄2 sacks . ... The league fined Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill $10,026 for taunting during Monday night’s loss to the Rams.
