Two Allentown men are charged with felony armed robbery after a Friday afternoon hold up when they allegedly stole cash, medical marijuana and beer from an acquaintance.

Kenneth A. Lindstrom, 18, of the 500 block of S. Eighth Street and Shakim S. Cox, 19, of the 700 block of St. John Street are both charged with armed robbery, theft and simple assault, according to court records. Cox was also charged with conspiracy. Both were sent to Lehigh County Jail under $50,000 bail.

According to an affidavit filed in district court, police were called to investigate an armed robbery just before 4 p.m. The victim suffered facial injuries and was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital Allen town for treatment.

The man told police he left a bar in the 700 block of S. Eighth St and was walking to his home carrying Corona beer. Near Pittston Street and South Delaware Street someone hit him in the back of the head with a gun. Police recovered what appeared to be a cylinder from a revolver at the scene, court records say.

Although the alleged attacker was wearing a ski mask with only his eyes visible, the man told police he knew it was Lindstrom because he has known him for some time and recognized his voice. Lindstrom told the man to empty his pockets and hit him again with the gun, court records say.

The man told police two other men also attacked him. He identified one of them as Cox, whom he also knows, court records say.

The man told police his attackers stole two cellphones, $82 in cash, his medical marijuana card, medical marijuana and the beer, court records say.

Police arrested Lindstrom at his home near the scene. Officer stopped Cox as he walked past and found him with a black ski mask. A search of Cox’s backpack revealed three bottles of Corona, the court records say.
