Hip hop star arrested on marijuana charges

The co-founder of the hip hop collective A$AP Mob and fashion designer of the Vlone clothing company has been charged with marijuana possession in Palmer Township.

Jabari Shelton, 26, of New York, who goes by the name A$AP Bari, was one of three men in a Mercedes that was pulled over at 12:20 a.m. Thursday in the township. Police say the vehicle was seen driving south in the northbound lanes of Nazareth Road.

Police say officers detected a strong smell of marijuana in the vehicle during the stop and a search turned up the drug. Police would not say how much marijuana allegedly was found.

Shelton was charged with possession of marijuana, possession with the intent to deliver marijuana, and possession of drug parapherna­lia. Records show he’s free after posting $25,000 bail. TMZ first reported the story. The other two men in the vehicle were also charged.

Isiah McLaurin, of Yonkers, N.Y., was charged with conspiracy, intention to possess marijuana, possession of drug parapherna­lia, identity theft and driving with a suspended license. Ryan Mulry, of Pompton Lakes, N.J., was charged with conspiracy, intent to possess marijuana and possession of drug parapherna­lia.
