Zoning officer shot at work in Poconos

-

Police say David R. Green, 72, entered the Paradise Township municipal building in Monroe County Tuesday and fatally shot Michael Tripus, the township zoning and sewage enforcement officer. As he was being charged in court with homicide, Green told reporters, “I don’t know why I did it.” In a Facebook post, Tripus’ wife, Pamela, said her husband had planned to shop for toys last week to give to the Salvation Army.

What’s next? Paradise Township Supervisors Chairman Gary Konrath said the municipal building might remain closed until the end of the year.
