Ex-Al­len­town of­fi­cials sen­tenced

A fed­eral judge in Philadel­phia last week sen­tenced Gar­ret Strat­hearn, Al­len­town’s for­mer fi­nance di­rec­tor, and Dale Wiles, a for­mer as­sis­tant solic­i­tor, for their roles in help­ing steer a city con­tract to a firm backed by cam­paign donors of for­mer Al­len­town Mayor Ed Pawlowski. Both ear­lier had pleaded guilty. Strat­hearn was sen­tenced Tues­day to six months of house ar­rest. Wiles was sen­tenced Wed­nes­day to three months of house ar­rest and or­dered to serve eight hours be­hind bars.

What’s next? Mike Fleck, the mayor’s cam­paign man­ager, will be sen­tenced in Fe­bru­ary.
