Ex-Allentown officials sentenced

A federal judge in Philadelph­ia last week sentenced Garret Strathearn, Allentown’s former finance director, and Dale Wiles, a former assistant solicitor, for their roles in helping steer a city contract to a firm backed by campaign donors of former Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski. Both earlier had pleaded guilty. Strathearn was sentenced Tuesday to six months of house arrest. Wiles was sentenced Wednesday to three months of house arrest and ordered to serve eight hours behind bars.

What’s next? Mike Fleck, the mayor’s campaign manager, will be sentenced in February.
