Anita "Needie" M. Ver­holy

Anita M. Ver­holy 86, of Al­len­town peace­fully passed away on Thurs­day Novem­ber 29, 2018, sur­rounded by her lov­ing fam­ily. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. Ver­holy Sr. to whom she was hap­pily mar­ried for 50years. Born in Al­len­town, Anita was the daugh­ter of the late Peter and Josephine (Schime­neck) Sch­midt.

She was de­vout mem­ber of Our Lady Help of Chris­tians Church in Al­len­town. Needie worked for over 40 years as a ma­chine op­er­a­tor for nu­mer­ous gar­ment fac­to­ries through­out the Le­high Val­ley. Needie was a fun-lov­ing and feisty woman who loved spend­ing time with her fam­ily and friends more than any­thing. Sur­viv­ing are her chil­dren: Thomas J. Jr. and his wife Karen of Al­bur­tis and Diane J. Hu­lock of Aurora, IL. Brother: Michael Garger. Sis­ters: Hilda Maron and Helen Lasin­sky. Brother-in-Laws: John and James Ver­holy and his wife Gla­dys. Grand­chil­dren: Me­gan, Erik and Mor­gan. Anita was pre­de­ceased by Broth­ers: Ed­win Sch­midt, Frank, John, Louis, Stephen and Ed­ward all Garger. Sis­ters: Lil­lian Schaf­fer, Erna Bartholomew, Stella Luisser, Anna Ifkovits, Rose Wolfel, Pauline Jan­driso­vits, Elsie Weaver, Mar­garet Scar­cia. Sis­ter-In-Law: Eleanor Ver­holy. Ser­vices: A Mass of Chris­tian Burial will be cel­e­brated on Fri­day De­cem­ber 7, 2018 at 10:30AM in her Church. Call­ing will be 8:30-10:15AM at the O'Don­nell Fu­neral Home 908 Hanover Ave. Al­len­town, PA 18109.
