Michael William Gery, of Marblehead, November

21, 2018. Mike was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, attended the University of Pennsylvania for undergraduate school and achieved his PhD in Atmospheric Chemistry at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He served as a consultant to the Environmental Protection Agency and the United Nations, having created a chemistry model to assess air pollution that is still used as the standard to this day. He also worked directly with local agencies to solve the horrific smog dilemma in the San Fernando Valley, and travelled the world working with some of the sharpest minds to devise a solution to the massive hole in the ozone layer. Much of Mike's work led to legislation that still protects the world in which we all live, and will ensure a healthy planet for generations to come. He was a nature enthusiast and adventurer who has visited dozens of national parks and sites around the world, recognized and enjoyed the power of their beauty, and believed strongly in their protection. He made a point to pass his love of outdoor activities on to his family and friends, and opened many eyes and hearts to an amazing world that is often missed or ignored. In 1988, Mike became the President of Pilgrim Parking in Boston, and dedicated 30 years of immense effort to ensure the company's strength and success. He grew the company from 7 to almost 40 locations. Pilgrim currently supports nearly 300 employees with the same kindness and respect that constantly emanated from Mike's heart. He provided not only his own family, but hundreds of local families with a safe and healthy work environment, and a sense of security unrivaled in business. Over the years the Pilgrim team has become a family of its own due to Mike's tireless efforts and caring nature, and he is truly loved by those he led. He was as passionate about NASCAR, world history, the Bruins, and his Wolfeboro Poker weekends as he was about his working life. He built decade's long friendships both in his personal and professional life, and celebrated his milestone birthdays with his crew of friends making epic journeys on Windjammer Cruises in the Caribbean. Everyone who knew him came to admire him for his brilliant mind, his sharp and witty sense of humor, his super human trivia knowledge, and for his humility, passion, dedication, commitment and integrity. He was the beloved son of Ethel Gery of Allentown, Pennsylvania; husband of Lisa Gery of Marblehead,
