Several readers have asked for an update on Giant Food Stores’ plans to open a store at the former Pathmark building at 300 S. Best Ave. in Walnutport.

In the spring, Giant said it was planning to open a store in 2019 at the building that has sat idle since 2015.

“Our construction team is hard at work preparing our store for the community,” said Christopher Brand, a Giant spokesman. “We are still excited as we are anticipating a spring 2019 grand opening.”

Lastly, for people looking to keep their cars looking their best, the Upper Bucks Chamber of Commerce on Thursday hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Ziebart of Quakertown at 49 S. West End Blvd., according to a news release.
