PPL Foun­da­tion works with Boys & Girls Club

The Boys & Girls Club of Al­len­town is of­fer­ing af­ter-school read­ing and math in­struc­tion with the sup­port of the PPL Foun­da­tion.

The PPL Foun­da­tion re­cently con­trib­uted $5,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Al­len­town to sup­port its Make Your MARK (Mo­ti­vated Aca­dem­i­cally Ready Kids) pro­gram.

There are seven Make Your MARK in­ner-city lo­ca­tions in the Al­len­town area. Stu­dents are ac­tively en­gaged twice a week in af­ter-school classes. The lan­guage arts/read­ing/English and math ma­te­ri­als align with the Al­len­town School District and Pennsylvania stan­dards for teach­ing.

Make Your MARK was the re­cip­i­ent of a Na­tional Merit

Award in 2018. Only two of these awards are given an­nu­ally by the Boys & Girls Club of Amer­ica. KOA Camp­ground has earned the 2019 KOA Pres­i­dent’s Award. This award was pre­sented at KOA’s An­nual In­ter­na­tional Con­ven­tion in Fort Worth, Texas, ear­lier this month.

KOA sur­veys hun­dreds of thou­sands of campers each year re­gard­ing their KOA camp­ing ex­pe­ri­ence. The KOA Pres­i­dent’s Award is pre­sented to those camp­grounds meet­ing ex­cep­tional qual­ity stan­dards and re­ceiv­ing high cus­tomer ser­vice scores from their guests.
