Donald R. Conover

Donald R. Conover, 80, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December

20, 2018, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Fountain Hill. He was the loving husband of Gloria (Dickert) Conover, with whom he shared over 60 years of marriage.

Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Robert and Josephine (Kresge) Conover. He worked for Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 28 years, working as a scheduling clerk in the Production office. He later worked for the architecture firm Wallace and Watson, as well as the Bethlehem Parking Authority. He enjoyed sports, particularly playing golf, basketball, dart baseball and church softball, and also coached his sons in Little League. He was an active member of College Hill Moravian Church for many years, where he served as an Elder, Trustee, and a Sacristan.

Survivors: children Donald Conover, Jr. and his wife Bettyanne Jansen of Palmer Township, Deborah Beitler and her husband Brian of Bethlehem, Dawn Fenner and her husband LeRoy of Bethlehem, Douglas Conover and his wife Katie Klingensmith of San Francisco, CA; brother Barry Conover of North Carolina; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild. Donald was predeceased by his brother, Robert Conover.

Services: A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 29, at College Hill Moravian Church, 72 W. Laurel St., Bethlehem, 18018. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com
