Master water­shed stew­ard info ses­sions

Penn State Ex­ten­sion and the Mon­roe County Con­ser­va­tion Dis­trict will of­fer three in­for­ma­tion ses­sions to learn about be­com­ing a Penn State master water­shed stew­ard in 2019. The pro­gram is a col­lab­o­ra­tive ef­fort be­tween Penn State Ex­ten­sion, MCCD, and lo­cal con­ser­va­tion groups and is de­signed to train peo­ple about the ba­sics of wa­ter re­source stew­ard­ship and cre­ate an en­er­gized group of cit­i­zen vol­un­teers. Stew­ards re­ceive 40 hours of class­room and field train­ing, and par­take in 50 hours of vol­un­teer ser­vice.

Ses­sions will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 15 at ForEver­green Na­ture Pre­serve, 1539 Cherry Lane Road, East Strouds­burg; 7 p.m. Jan 17 at Western Po­cono Com­mu­nity Li­brary, 131 Pil­grim Way, Brod­headsville; and 11 a.m. Jan 19 at Ket­tle Creek En­vi­ron­men­tal Ed­u­ca­tion Cen­ter, 8050 Run­ning Val­ley Road, Strouds­burg.
