Master watershed steward info sessions
Penn State Extension and the Monroe County Conservation District will offer three information sessions to learn about becoming a Penn State master watershed steward in 2019. The program is a collaborative effort between Penn State Extension, MCCD, and local conservation groups and is designed to train people about the basics of water resource stewardship and create an energized group of citizen volunteers. Stewards receive 40 hours of classroom and field training, and partake in 50 hours of volunteer service.
Sessions will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 15 at ForEvergreen Nature Preserve, 1539 Cherry Lane Road, East Stroudsburg; 7 p.m. Jan 17 at Western Pocono Community Library, 131 Pilgrim Way, Brodheadsville; and 11 a.m. Jan 19 at Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center, 8050 Running Valley Road, Stroudsburg.
