This is why Trump is criticized by many

The Morning Call (Sunday) - - TOWN SQUARE - George J. Motsay

A recent column, “The media still doesn’t understand Trump Country,” lamented Trump voters are ignored or disrespected by critics. These voters also believe they are considered racists. The truth is not all Trump voters are racists but they did vote for one.

As for disrespect, President Trump has disrespected many, including institutions. He disrespected Sen. McCain by stating he was not a war hero because he was captured. He disrespected the Gold Star Kahn family whose son was killed in Iraq. He disrespected President Obama with his birther ploy, and he disrespected women, Muslims and other minorities.

His disrespect for people who worked for him, like Jeff Sessions, Rex Tillerson and Jim Mattis, is almost crude. His disrespect for the FBI and intelligence agencies is almost Luddite in behavior. And his explicit disrespect for foreign leaders is childish.

The author of the column, and others who complain they are disrespected by Trump critics, might just be feeling guilty for not criticizing their hero’s deplorable behavior. It’s difficult to have a feeling of respectability if you continue to support someone with disrespectful behavior.
