Wolf-Fetterman inauguration
Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf and Lt. Gov.-elect John Fetterman will be sworn into office Tuesday.
It’ll be Wolf ’s second term and Fetterman’s first.
The Democrats’ swearing-in ceremony and “Moving Pennsylvania Forward Inaugural Celebration” that follows feature all things Pennsylvania.
The swearing-in ceremony is noon outside the Capitol’s East Wing, which is along Commonwealth Avenue. Cost is free.
Music is by J.P. McCaskey High School’s Chamber Choir, Lancaster School District.
Pledge of Allegiance: Sebastian Pelaez, an Allentown resident and commissioner on the Pennsylvania Commission on LGBTQ Affairs.
National anthem: Bobby W. Hill, Philadelphia resident.
Invocation: Rabbi Jeffrey Myers of the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. His congregation was attacked Oct. 27 by a gunman, who killed 11 worshipers.
Wolf’s oath of office: administered by Pennsylvania Supreme Court Chief Justice Thomas G. Saylor, a Republican.
Doors open at 5 p.m. for the inauguration ball at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center, 2300 N. Cameron St., Harrisburg.
Headlining act is The Roots, the Grammywinning Philadelphia hip-hop band and the house band for “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
Cost is $50 for students and seniors and $100 for others.
