Julius F. Iacocca, 93, of South Whitehall Township died Thursday, January

10, 2019 surrounded by his family at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the loving husband of Phyllis A. (Rose) Iacocca. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversar­y on August 16, 2018. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Theodore and Assunta (Cocca) Iacocca. Julius was a 1943 graduate of Allentown High School and after World

War II he completed his education at Lehigh University graduating in 1948. A 1st Lieutenant in the Marine Corps during the war, he completed his officer training at the University of Notre Dame. Julius followed in the footsteps of his father and became the 2nd generation co-owner of Yocco’s, Inc. along with his brother, Albert M. Iacocca. He retired in 1993, but remained an advisor to his son Gary. An avid golfer, he was a long time member of Brookside Country Club. He was a lifelong Yankees fan and was lucky enough to have attended their perfect game. He enjoyed playing a hand of Poker or Gin Rummy with his friends. He loved and adored his many grandchild­ren, great-grandchild­ren and his beloved dog Beau. Julius was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown.

NY, Cheryl A. Iacocca wife of Jack Kogelman of Northampto­n, Gary J. Iacocca of Allentown, Lisa wife of Dr. Mark Shoenberge­r of Emmaus; siblings, Dr. Victor Iaccoca and his wife Priscilla of Broomall and Gloria Krause of Allentown. Julius was predecease­d by his son, Gregory Iacocca, brother, Albert M. Iacocca and daughter-in-law, Dorothy Jean (Eakin) Iacocca.

Calling hours for family and friends are 4 to 8:00PM Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th & Hamilton Sts., Allentown, www.jsburkhold­er.com.
