Oblas, 66, of Mahanoy

City, PA, passed away Saturday, January 12th, while in the company of family members, at the home of his niece Carla Oblas.

Thomas was born in Trenton, PA on October

20, 1952, a son of the late Agnes (McLaughlin) and Joseph Oblas.

Graduate of Mahanoy Area High School class of 1970. Tom was a member of Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish and the former St. Canicus Church Mahanoy City, PA 17948.

He worked for Mahanoy City Borough and later the Pennsylvan­ia Dept of Transporta­tion.

Tom was a proud member and currently served as Financial Secretary of the "Dutchies" Good American Fire Company Mahanoy City since 1972. He was a coach for Track and Field, Midget Football and Wrestling. He was a PIAA Wrestling Official for 37 years. He served on Mahanoy City Borough Council for 16 years and served as Council President for 7 years.

Tom is survived by a sister, Susan, wife of Scott Elliott, of Allentown, three brothers, William, husband of

Sally, of Hamilton VA; Michael, husband of Lynn, of Allentown; Edward, of Bowie MD; nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a brother Joseph.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City, PA, at 11 AM on Thursday, January 17th, with Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher officiatin­g.

Friends may call Wednesday 6 to 9 PM and Thursday 8:30 to 10:30 AM at the Good American Hose Co. #3 738 E Mahanoy St, Mahanoy City.

Interment will follow at Skyview Memorial Park Tamaqua, PA.
