Allentown pools announce summer schedule

The City of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation announces the daily opening for city pools and spray parks.

Cedar Beach Pool opens on May 25. The pool will then be open weekends only until June 16 when seven day a week operation begins through Labor Day. New for 2019, the city resident restrictio­n has been lifted making the pool open to all regardless of residency seven days per week. Cedar Beach Pool will also be open on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27. Resident daily admission is $6, ages 4-59, and $12, nonresiden­ts. Resident seniors 60 and older are $2 and nonresiden­t seniors are $4. Children three years of age and under are free.

Mack and Jordan pools will open on June 15. Resident daily admission is $4, ages 4-59, and $8, non-residents. Resident seniors 60 and older are $2 and $4, for non-resident seniors. Children three years of age and under are free.

Irving pool will open June 15. Resident daily admission is $2, ages 4-59, and $4, non-residents. Resident seniors 60 and older are $2 and non-resident seniors are $4. Children 3 years of age and under are free.

Photo proof of residency is required to receive resident admission rates via a driver’s license, photo ID or school-issued photo ID.

The city’s free Bucky Boyle and Old Allentown Fairground­s spray parks also will open daily for the season on May 25.

All facilities are open for recreation­al use noon to 7 p.m. daily, weather permitting.
