At the start, Jags plan to make do

LT Robinson, WR Lee may miss regular-season opener

-

He has been in concussion protocol in 2016, 2017 and 2019.

Johnson, 33, a fifth-round pick by the Buccaneers in 2008, started three games for the Redskins last season. It was his 12th team.

In 33 career games, he has completed 148 of 268 passes for 1,632 yards, eight TDs and 14 INTs.

Also, the Lions as expected placed wide receiver Jermaine Kearse on injured reserve. Kearse, who signed with the team as a free agent during the offseason, injured his left leg while run blocking on the team’s first offensive snap Thursday.

Packers lose LB: Second-year linebacker Oren Burks, expected to be a starter, suffered what is believed to be a torn pectoral muscle during the Packers’ preaseason opener against the Texans on Thursday and will miss time, ESPN reported.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Saturday he “doesn’t know” when Burks will return to action.

A third-round pick last season, Burks was slowed in 2018 by a preseason shoulder injury and played only 122 snaps during the regular season.

Bears’ Miller suffers injury: Wide receiver Anthony Miller left Bears practice Saturday after suffering an apparent right ankle and foot injury.

Miler suffered the injury during a one-on-one drill when he jumped to catch a contested pass against Pro Bowl cornerback Kyle Fuller and landed awkwardly. He eventually walked back to the locker room under his own power.

Coach Matt Nagy didn’t provide specifics on the injury but said he didn’t think it was serious.
