Gunshot victim expected to survive

A man was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest after being shot Friday night in Allentown, city police said.

He suffered non-life-threatenin­g injuries at 8:30 p.m. at Oak and Grant streets, in the area of Second and Chew streets, Allentown police Capt. Alicia Conjour said.

On Saturday, police did not provide more informatio­n about the shooting, including the victim’s age or residence. They have not said if there is a suspect.

It was the third shooting in the city in two days.

At 8:30 p.m. Thursday, a 28-year-old man was shot multiple times in the 600 block of North Meadow Street, which is less than a mile from Friday’s shooting and on the other side of the Jordan Creek. He also was taken to LVH, police said. Shortly afterward, a 19-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds walked into St. Luke’s University Hospital’s Sacred Heart campus in Center City. Both victims’ injuries were not life-threatenin­g, police said.

6 a.m. in a wood-frame building with several apartments in the 100 block of Station Road. It caused extensive damage to a second floor apartment. The victim appeared to have attempted to escape through a kitchen window, Buck said.

The Quakertown Fire Department and mutual aid companies arrived on the scene to find fire showing from the dwelling’s second floor, according to West End Fire Co. in Quakertown.

About five hours later, crews were still on scene, but the fire was under control, according to a West End Fire Co. official.
