Police investigating gunfire from car
Witnesses reported gunshots fired from one vehicle at another Friday afternoon in South Whitehall Township, which prompted a police investigation that temporarily closed part of one street.
At 3:36 p.m., a light blue four-door sedan and light-colored four-door sedan were traveling west in the 2400 block of Walbert Avenue when a passenger in the blue sedan shot at the sedan in front of it, witnesses told police. No one was hurt.
The blue sedan then turned south off Walbert Avenue and left in an unknown direction. No witnesses reported seeing the license plate.
Police temporarily closed Walbert Avenue between North 24th and North 26th streets to investigate. Anyone with information or video is asked to contact police at 610-398-0337.

onions sold in all 50 states.
Thompson International Inc. distributed red, yellow, white and sweet onions potentially contaminated with salmonella bacteria in cartons and mesh sacks weighing between 3 and 50 pounds.
They are sold under the brand names Thomson Premium, TLC Thomson International, Tender Loving Care, El Competitor, Hartley’s Best, Onions 52, Majestic, Imperial Fresh, Kroger, Utah Onions and Food Lion.
Consumers who have onions under the brand names distributed by Thompson International should immediately throw away the onions and disinfect surfaces they contacted.
People should not eat food prepared with the onions.
Consumers unsure whether their onions are from Thompson International should err on the side of caution and dispose of them, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said.
The FDA and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are investigating salmonella infections that sickened nearly 400 people in 34 states that may be linked to the onions. Thompson International recalled the onions as a precaution, the FDA said.
The agencies have not identified a source of contamination or a contaminated shipment.
Salmonella is a bacteria that causes serious infections that are sometimes fatal in young, frail or elderly people and those with weakened immune systems. People infected with salmonella experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
In rare instances, the bacteria can enter the bloodstream and cause more serious illness.
