CEDARBROOK SENIOR CARE AND REHAB,
Fountain Hill and Allentown, is looking to the community to help brighten the day of residents who have been unable to have visitors or social programming these past several months. Inspirational, nonreligious, cards and letters, or drawings and painting created by youth or adults would be a welcomed addition to everyone’s day. Dedicated staff would also enjoy notes of thanks. DELAWARE & LEHIGH NATIONAL HERITAGE CORRIDOR,
Bethlehem, needs volunteers to be greeters who will be responsible for managing visitor traffic coming in and out of the National Canal Museum. This position serves as the first and last contact for visitors to the museum. This person sets the tone for the visit and strives to ensure visitor’s needs and hopefully expectations were met. Abilities required include friendly and welcoming demeanor, attention to detail, and communication skills. Hours based on availability and desired commitment, but preferred minimum of six-hour shift on a weekly or biweekly basis. Minimum age 16. MEALS ON WHEELS OF THE GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY,
Northampton County, needs drivers to deliver meals to homebound seniors and adults with disabilities. Volunteer once a week, once a month, or whenever your schedule permits; we provide step-by-step directions and delivery instructions. Need is greatest for our Bethlehem, Slate Belt and Easton sites. SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK,
Nazareth, has some upcoming volunteer opportunities available on the third Tuesday and Wednesday of the month, except September is the fourth week, through December. THE GRESS MOUNTAIN RANCH,
Orefield, needs two volunteers per day to assist with feeding and watering the animals, and groups no bigger than five to help with grounds maintenance, composting, cleaning stalls, cutting grass and weed whacking. Minimum age with parent/guardian supervision is 10 years old, without supervision is 14 years old. Volunteers are required to wear masks and to social distance. THE WHOLE LIFE CENTER,
Pen Argyl, needs volunteers 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of the month for pantry distribution. Each box of food from the truck is lifted and weighed on a scale and items are separated to the proper areas. Food items are put into the bags and then they are taken to a designated area for distribution. Also, one or two volunteers are needed 9-11 a.m. the second and fourth Wednesday of the month to assemble boxes of fresh food for seniors. These boxes are delivered by a service to a senior living facility. All pantry volunteers are required to wear head covering; long hair must be pulled back or under a hat. Gloves and masks required and available or bring your own. Note: State regulations require all volunteers to be over 18 and under 65, nor can we accept volunteers for community service hours.
