It’s bad timing for a rate hike on small businesses
I’m truly not sure how PPL or any utilities could announce a rate increase for small business electricity customers at this time (The Morning Call, Nov. 4).
Although I have the utmost respect for PPL as a staple in our community, we are in the middle of a pandemic. And so many businesses, restaurants, cultural attractions, etc. were devastated by the loss of revenue.
Some of these businesses will never reopen. With no change in current restrictions in sight, we need help ... not an increase in our bills.
PPL Electric President Gregory Dudkin said to shop around, but the point is let us continue to help and come together during this sad time of need.
The pandemic hit everyone hard, and everyone should give businesses a chance to get back on their feet.
That’s how you move forward.
