Imagine a world with no need for soldiers

-

It was Veterans Day again on Nov. 11. Time to honor the living and serving, and all of the dead. And I wondered: How many dead? How many wars and conflicts resulting in how many deaths since war and conflict got organized? Millions of dead, maybe billions, who can say?

How many widows? How many fatherless (now also motherless) children? Howmany friends, how many relatives, all victims of war and conflict? And I thought maybe war should just be made illegal. All wagers of war would be punished for starting the war. Let the wagers of war pay the price of war. Not the soldiers and those they leave behind.

Earth with no need for soldiers; imagine that. Jeff Horning
