Cold-case suspect waives extradition

John Sipos, the 75-yearold North Whitehall Township man accused in a 1969 cold case rape and murder in San Diego, waived extradition in Lehigh County Court on Wednesday.

That clears the way for Sipos to return to California to face charges in the death of 24-yearold dancer Mary Scott.

What’s next? The attorney for Sipos said his client is in poor health, but realizes that Sipos must go to California to fight the charges, which he denies.
