Cartoon isn’t fair to a tireless Biden

-

I was struck by a political cartoon in the Nov. 16 Morning Call. Atoothy Biden declares his presidential victory. Then, grinning but befuddled, he asks “Okay, what do I do now?”

Cartoons are satire, and balance is required, but isn’t it time to retire the Slow Joe meme, even in jest? Hasn’t Biden proved himself as a tireless team builder?

While Trump swanned around the country holding superspreader rallies, Biden worked his Rolodex from home, lining up good people to serve in his administration. Trump has hollowed out our government, helping to create a self-fulfilling prophesy about government incompetence.

Biden has the expertise to reassemble it and the belief that this will matter. His COVID taskforce is ready to go. His chief of staff is in place, the highly experienced Ron Klain.

World leaders are reaching out to Biden because they know he understands the importance of alliances. I could go on, but you get my point. Joe has known all along what he is doing and he is ready to take the helm.

I’m sure you could find a better right-leaning cartoon. This one makes no sense.
