Two children killed, four hurt in fire
An early morning fire in a south Philadelphia rowhome claimed the lives of two children and left four other people injured, including an infant, authorities said.
WPVI-TV reported that neighbors called 911 to report the blaze in the Grays Ferry section shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday.
Arriving fire crews reported flames shooting from the home and said three people jumped from the top floor. Firefighters rescued two others, including a 10-year-old girl who was pronounced dead just after 2 a.m. Saturday at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, police said. Officials said a 3-year-old boy was found dead in the home.
A 9-moth-old girl with severe burns and smoke inhalation injuries was listed in critical condition, along with a man, police said. A24-year-old womanand a 30-year-old manwere listed as stable.
