U.S. is a republican democracy
Regarding the letter that ran recently in The Morning Call about the U.S. form of government. It is the republican form of government that makes us a democracy.
In those jurisdictions that allow referendums on the ballot, for instance, that is an example of “direct democracy.” We are, in fact, a republican democracy.
