LCCC offers EMT class in Schuylkill

Lehigh Carbon Community College will partner with Lehigh Valley Health Network to offer an emergency medical technician training program in Schuylkill County Jan. 18 through May 17. Classes will be held 6:30-9:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays at LCCC Tamaqua at the Morgan Center.

The class is for individual­s who are likely to respond to pre-hospital emergencie­s or those considerin­g a medical career. Cost is $1,350, text and gear included. Students must be at least 16 years of age. Upon successful completion, students 18 years or older will be eligible to test for the National Registry EMTcredent­ial.

Acceptance into the EMT program is selective and requires the submission of a physician release form and proof of medical insurance.
