What happened to security at the Capitol?

The riots and disruption of law that our nation’s capital has just gone through is appalling. However, the calls to impeach President Donald Trump are downright ridiculous. He has days left in office.

What I consider way higher in the chain of importance is revisiting the security that our country has in place in and around our U.S. Capitol. To see a rag-tag bunch of untrained hoodlums gain access to the building and threaten our elected officials is just plain wrong. There is no excuse for this other than someone was complacent and not doing their job.

Imagine if this would have been a highly trained black ops terror cell; they would have had their way, without resistance. Wake up, America. Edward G. Goehring
