Charles Dugan, age 93, beloved husband of Joan Dugan for 64 years passed away on April 8,2021. In addition to his wife, Joan, Charlie will be lovingly remembered by his children, Marikay (Pat), Regina, Larry (Andrea), Lianne (David) and Kevin, and his treasured grandchild­ren, Nick, Alyssa, Collin, Sasha and Connor. Upon graduation from North East Catholic High School in Philadelph­ia, Charlie enlisted and served in active duty in the 11th Airborne division Japan in World War II. Following his honorable discharge, he attended and graduated from LaSalle College, Temple Law School and Georgetown University, where he obtained a Masters of Laws degree.

He worked for the Internal Revenue Service as the

Chief of the Court of Appeals of the Tax Court Division in Washington, D.C. He and his family moved to Bethlehem in 1970, where he joined Bethlehem Steel as a tax attorney. He retired as tax counsel after 21 years with Bethlehem Steel.

Charlie was a devoted parishione­r of Notre Dame of Bethlehem, an active member of Cursillo, a volunteer at Holy Infancy School and a member of the Board of the St. Francis Retreat House for many years. He was always on the move, playing tennis, jogging, learning to downhill ski at age 50, skiing until he was 80, and still going to the gym regularly until his late 80s.

Charlie will be remembered for his wonderful quick sense of humor, his generosity with his time, and his kindness.

The eldest son of Dennis and Mary Dugan, he is predecease­d by his parents and his siblings, Ann O'Neill , John Dugan, Helen Usewicz and his son, Neal Dugan. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 15, in Notre Dame Church, followed by interment in Holy Saviour Cemetery. Family and friends may call in the church from 9:30 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.
