Margaret Allen Coleman, “Suzie”, 78, daughter of Walter Justin Allen and Margaret Allen (McLaughlin), born at Margaret Hague Maternity Hospital in Jersey City, New Jersey on Sept 5,
1942 was called home by the Lord on April 8, 2021. She had been dealing with a long battle with Alzheimer's Dementia and finally a stroke on Easter Sunday, 2021. She passed away peacefully under the amazing compassionate care of Family Pillars Hospice at Sacred Heart Senior Living in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of Holy Name School of Nursing in Teaneck, New Jersey in 1963. While a registered nurse, she served many roles, most prominently as an operating room and emergency room RN at Holy Name Hospital. After living in West New York, NJ, her and her husband moved to Northern NJ, where they called the Village of Ridgewood home for over 35 years. She was an active member of the community, serving as President of the Women's Club of Ridgewood and local Meals on Wheels service. Her favorite past time was spent cooking, making various works of art through needlepoint, and reading books. Suzie and her late husband then moved to Emmaus, PA where she was a member of St. Ann's Church. She spent many memorable summers in Bay Head, NJ and in Killington, VT.
She is survived by her son Dr. Gerald A. Coleman
III, wife Samantha Coleman, her daughter Margaret Abolafia (Coleman) and son-in-law Daniel Abolafia. Margaret was blessed with six grandchildren. Her brother Michael Allen and his wife Carol reside in Robbinsville, New Jersey. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Gerald A. Coleman, Jr and her granddaughter Tierney McKenzie Coleman.
Services will be held Friday, April 16, 2021 at St. Joseph The Worker Church in Orefield, PA. A brief viewing will be held from 9:15 am – 10:00 am. Mass service will follow at 10 am. Final resting place for Margaret and he late husband, Gerald A. Coleman, Jr., will be in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Arrangements by Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Homes, Allentown.
