George A. Murton, 76, of Allentown, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 in Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest. He was the companion of the late Margaret H. (Schulter) Brezner for 30 years.

Born in Pottsville, he was the son of the late Joseph and Kathryn (Rolenitus) Murton. George was a 1962 graduate of Nativity BVM High School in Pottsville. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. George worked as an electrical instrument technician at PP&L for 37 years until retiring in 2010. He enjoyed trains, attending Celtic festivals and was an IBEW member.

Survivors: Sister, Kathleen T. Walters of Orwigsburg; brother, Joseph H. Murton and his partner Nancy Hazlinsky of Lewisburg; nephew, Matthew W. Murton.

Services: A viewing will be held from 10-11 AM on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 in the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, Inc., 46 E. Susquehann­a Street, Allentown. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:30 AM in the mausoleum of Cedar Hill Memorial Park, 1700 Airport Road, Allentown. Social distancing will be observed and we request that face coverings be worn inside the funeral home.
