Rt. 33 closed after motorcycle crash

A motorcycle crash injured two people — one flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest — and shut down both lanes of Route 33 near Wind Gap for nearly four hours Saturday.

The accident happened just before 11 a.m. near the Route 512 exit. Traffic was clogged for hours around the site, according to information from PennDOT.

The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the crash. The driver of the motorcycle was taken by ambulance to St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill. The passenger was flown. No further details were available.
