Toomey should have voted on Jan. 6 investigation
It is beyond belief that U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey was absent for the crucial vote to establish a bipartisan commission to examine the Jan. 6 insurrection.
Equally galling is the statement by Steve Kelley, Toomey’s communications director. A statement in which he claimed that had Toomey been in D.C., he would have voted in favor of the motion. Pennsylvania Sen. Toomey was conveniently absent for the vote along with eight other Republican senators. The reason for Toomey’s absence was reportedly due to a family commitment. If in fact Toomey was actually missing for the vote due to a family commitment, it’s time for him or Kelley to provide specifics.
