Grants available through Lehigh County
Lehigh County’s Department of Community and Economic Development is accepting applications for the 2021 Homelessness Prevention Grant, the 2021 Returning Citizens Reentry Services and the 2021 Youth Violence Prevention Grant.
The Homeless Prevention Grant program is open to nonprofit organizations within Lehigh County seeking to reduce homelessness housing rates as well as create economic opportunities for afflicted individuals and families. If approved, applicants can receive up to $25,000-$50,000.
Eligibility requirements are: An organization requesting a Homelessness Prevention grant must be an organization recognized as either: a) a nonprofit organization under Section 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code, or b) a nonprofit organization affiliated with a unit of local government.
If approved, the funding for the grant may be used for the following: House First model activities, including provision of housing or support services; provision of emergency housing through temporary shelter; rental assistance; rapid rehousing assistance.
The Returning Citizens Reentry Services Grant program is open to nonprofit organizations within Lehigh County seeking to reduce recidivism through increased economic opportunities and services for returning citizens, reducing bail and pretrial supervision for nonviolent crimes, and supporting presentencing problem solving courts. If approved, applicants can receive up to $25,000-$50,000.
Eligibility requirements are: An organization requesting a Returning Citizens Reentry Services Grant must be a cultural or civic, or organization and be recognized as either a) a nonprofit organization under Section 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code, or b) a
