Jeanne Fay Daubert, a well-known local piano teacher, died January 23, 2022 at home at the age of 90. Born in Allentown, PA on April 26, 1931, she was the daughter of Ralph A. and Mildred I. (Miller) Daubert. Jeanne was introduced to the piano by her mother, who was her first teacher. She continued studying privately under several teachers over

the following decades. After graduating from Emmaus High School in 1949, Jeanne attended Kutztown State Teachers College

(now Kutztown University), majoring in Elementary Education. While there, she began teaching piano to young children, which led to her 70-year career as a beloved piano teacher to hundreds of students in her 3-piano studio. She taught children, their children and their grandchildren. She was especially gratified by former students who returned as adults to continue their study with her. She taught many adult beginners who always wanted to learn the piano, but who never had the opportunity as a child. Many of her students became lifelong friends. Her love of teaching and her students was always apparent, retaining a passion for teaching that never waned. Jeanne always greeted others with a smile and a kind word. Hopefully, her many students retain a song in their heart which she inspired. A woman of strong faith, Jeanne was a life member of Solomon’s U.C.C., Macungie, having previously served

as a Sunday School teacher and Youth Choir director. More recently, she periodically offered piano selections during church services. Over the years, Jeanne has performed at recitals, concerts, school musicals, class reunions, weddings, funerals, celebrations, and other special occasions. She was always compulsive in her

selection of appropriate music, and consistently played with her trademark perfectionism. Jeanne was a former girl scout leader, member of the Macungie Historical Society, and an 80+ year resident of Macungie. She loved her family, her friends, dining out, trips to Broadway, Christmases in Hershey, shopping, classic movies, challenging crossword puzzles, reading novels, and playing her cherished “baby grand.”

She is survived by her devoted family, including: brother, Ralph A. Jr. and his wife, Ann; nephew, Sean and his wife Lyn; and her great nephew, Sean Patrick.

Graveside services will be private. Memorial contributions to Solomon’s U.C.C., Macungie, PA. would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements by Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. www.stephensfuneral.com.
