Steven R. Borbash, Jr.,
86, of Macungie, died Saturday March 5, 2022 in the Mosser Nursing Home, Trexlertown. He was the husband of Lis (Klitgaard) Borbash whom he met at school. They were married in Denmark eight months after Steven graduated. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary Feb. 28. Steven was born in Elyria, OH a son of the late Steven R. Borbash,
Sr. And Eleanor (Warden) Borbash. He was proud of putting himself through school. Steven earned a BS Math-Physics, Ohio University (1958): NASA Nuclear Engineering School (1958-1959), MS Engineering
Science, University of Toledo (1966), PhD Systems Engineering & Operations Research, University of Pittsburgh (1970). Steven was employed as a Nuclear Engineer, NASA Lewis Research Center 1958-1971; Professor of Industrial Engineering 1971-1980, West Virginia University ; Member of Technical Staff, AT&T Bell Labs 1980-1998; Adjunct Professor at Stevens Institute of Technology (Hoboken, NJ) 1985-86 and Rutgers University (New Brunswick,NJ) 2005-06. Steven enjoyed socializing, tennis, gardening, cooking, folk music and traveling. He was a member of Charlie’s Roundtable, a local men’s discussion group. Steven also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels and as a Tax Aide for AARP.
Survivors: Wife, son, Steven A. Borbash Husband of Susan, Baltimore with their children Vivian and Lucinda; daughter Cynthia A. Spencer wife of Glenn, Bridgewater, NJ with their children Anna, Grace and Olivia; brother Jan Borbash husband of Vicki of Lewes, DE.
Services: a service to celebrate Steven’s life will be held this summer. Arrangements by Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. Allentown.
