2022 Gathering of Kindness USA
Your words matter. Make a difference. The Narrative Initiative LLC announced the third annual Gathering of Kindness USA will be held April 8 at the Hoffman House on the campus of Muhlenberg College, 2400 W. Chew St., Allentown. GOK USA is designed to bring together those who give health care, health care professionals, and those who receive care, patients, family members, friends, to share personal stories on the topic of “Challenges to Kindness in the Experience of Healthcare.” These stories are guided by certified TNI narrative facilitators who open discussions on the value of different perspectives when talking about challenging, even polarizing topics. Everyone leaves feeling heard, validated and with a heightened awareness of the perspectives of others. They now know each other based on story.
Speakers include: Nancy Werteen and Kim Howie, The Wisdom Coalition; Terry Burger, director of infection control, LVHN; Mohamed Latib, PhD, CEO of CX University and PX Academy; and Dr. Jennifer Stephens, chief medical officer, LVHN.
Events include:
Live performance of the health care play “Hear Me” by actors from The Bloomberg Theater Ensemble. “Hear Me” addresses the tricky issue of medical error from a number of different perspectives.
Viewing of the short movie “Watchtower.” This movie follows one couple’s journey through the challenge of addiction and recovery
