David A. “Whitey” Hartzell, Sr. 82 years, of Orefield, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. He was the husband of Eleanor (Reichelder­fer) Hartzell for 63 years last July. Born in Easton, he was a son of the late Harold and Rhea Hartzell. He was a truck driver for various companies in the Lehigh Valley for many years and worked at Impress Packaging, in Emmaus, as a bander before retiring. David was a member of the Breinigsvi­lle VFW, the Trexlertow­n and Fogelsvill­e Fire Companies, and the Rural Sportsman Assoc. in Breinigsvi­lle.

Survivors: wife, Eleanor, sons, David Hartzell (Jacki) of Colorado Springs, CO, Leslie Hartzell (Deborah) of Slatington, Daniel Hartzell (Karen) of Mertztown, Dale Hartzell (Dina) of Coplay, and Darryl Hartzell (Stacy) of Kempton, sister, Linda Brearman (Walter) of Slatington, grandchild­ren, Jamie Hartzell, Jessica Shurilla, Jenna Miller, Chris Hartzell, Heather Steuer, Joe Thompson, Kyle Hartzell, and Austin Hartzell, step grandchild­ren, Danny Geisinger, Thomas Soto, and Tiffani Boger, and 15 great grandchild­ren. He was predecease­d by a son, Douglas Hartzell, and brothers, Levan, Ronnie, and Carl Hartzell.
