Richard “Dick” F. Bartakovit­s, 76, of Hernando, FL, formerly of Springtown, PA, passed away February 21, 2022, in Ocala Regional Medical Center, with his wife, Barbara Yonney Bartakovit­s, and his sons, by his side. Born on January 18, 1946, he was the son of the late Charles Sr. and Stella (Toth) Bartakovit­s.

Dick graduated from Palisades High School., then honorably enlisted in the Navy during the Vietnam War, on the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk (1965-1967). Dick worked as a hot saw operator at the 12 and 18

Mill for the Bethlehem Steel Co. in Bethlehem, PA. He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Springtown and a life member of the Silver Creek Athletic Associatio­n, serving as the house chairman for almost forty years at the Social Club. He was a life member of the VFW and served on the board in his Florida community as the ARC chairman for three years. Dick enjoyed watching the Phillies and Eagles teams. Most of all, he enjoyed driving his ’61 corvette and going to car shows and cruises with his wife. Dick is predecease­d by his brother, Charlie, and brother-in-law Jay Szakacs. Celebratio­n of Life was held in Florida on March 20, 2022.
