F. Irene (Missmer) Maloney

Florence Irene “Missmer” Maloney,

84, of Mt. Pleasant,

SC, peacefully passed away in her sleep to be with her Saviour on April 15, 2022.

Irene (known as “Sis” to her family) was born on May 30, 1937 to Earl and Arlene Missmer in Allentown, PA. Irene graduated from Whitehall HS in 1955 where she played basketball.

Irene is survived by 3 children, John Michael Maloney, Jr., Mary Jane (Maloney) Watson and her husband Bill, and Susan (Maloney) Wilson and her husband Mark, along with 6 grandchildren: Katie Watson, Samantha (Watson) Gwaltney, Megan Wilson, Michael Wilson,

Jordan Maloney and Jack Maloney. Additionally she is survived by her Brother-In-Law, Roy G. Snyder, Nephew, Michael Snyder and wife Donna, and Niece Alison Snyder.

Irene was predeceased by her parents Earl and Arlene Missmer and her sister Mary Jane (Missmer) Snyder.

Irene was a wonderful mother, sister, daughter and grandmother who always put her family first. Irene was a hard worker who had a knack to fix anything. Her sense of humor was second to none and she was as compassionate as she was funny, spending many hours volunteering for children in both her daughter’s and sister’s classrooms.

Irene worked in the banking industry for over 20 years with American Bank and Meridian Bank

in both Allentown and Reading.

Private services will be held by Irene’s family at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to MJ Snyder Scholarship Fund via the Berks County Community Foundation, 237 Court Street, Reading PA 19601 or at bccf.org.
